Y Prospect- A prospective member. Many are in 8th grade, but many join later too!
Y Chapter- group of 30-40 boys or girls.
Y Region- collection of chapters in a geographical region. Rocky Mountain Region includes Wyoming, Colorado, and New Mexico, so our region includes all chapters in Denver, Boulder, Colorado Springs, and Albuquerque!
Y Regional Board (RB)- a girls' board and boys' board elected by the whole region. They oversee all chapters and help their chapter counterparts on board as well as plan regional programs and conventions and maintain the regional website!
Chapter Boards
Within each chapter, there is an executive board. The purpose of this board is to keep the chapter running smoothly and successfully. Each position has different responsibilities and different tasks that they are expected to complete. Being on board allows girls to gian leadership knowledge, as well as learn life long skills about how to work with people as a team, as well as succeed individually. Remember, just because you’re not on board, doesn’t mean you can’t help! We always encourage member-input!
Godol/N’siah (President): Presides over chapter business, and is in charge of keeping in contact with the chapter advisor and each board member. He represents the chapter to the region.
S'gan/S’ganit (VP): In charge of planning programs (around 6 folds) and advertising for them. Acts as Godol in his absence.
Chaver/Yehudia (Jewish Heritage, Community Service): In charge of bringing Judaism to the chapter, leading services, and planning community service and social action programs.
Moreh/Aym HaChaverot (MIT mom/Membership): In charge of recruitment, retention, and (re)education. He plans Rush and makes sure that all members are comfortable and welcomed in the chapter.
Gizbor/Gizborit (Treasurer): In charge of chapter’s financial matters and fundraising.
Mazkir/Mazkirah (Secretary): In charge of making newspaper, taking minutes, presiding over calls, and communication in general.
Rakazit (Historian): In charge of taking photographs.
Rocky Mountain Region Conventions
Fall Convention: Held in the fall and is planned by your regional Aym Ha and Moreh. This convention is intended to improve your leadership skills.
Convention: This is the BIG Convention in the winter planned by your regional S’gan and S’ganit. During this convention, regional business is conducted and new officers are elected. There are also chapter competitions!
Kallah: Held in the spring and the regional Yehudiah and Chaver plan it. This is a Jewish-themed convention but there is also Senior Circle.
