A Message from our Nsiah
Hello lovely members of the Rocky Mountain Region! Welcome to Rocky Mountain Chai BBYO
#5179's page. :) Positivity, passion, and unity is exactly what we need to keep 5179 strong, and I am extremely proud to say that we have only continued to grow stronger! Excitement, drive, and determination from our members is what makes us the unique BBYO chapter we are today, and just as our six Seniors have shaped our chapter, our newer members are doing the same! All of the goals we have been striving to achieve have been broken, and we are ecstatic to be going above and beyond!
This term has been INCREDIBLE and extremely groundbreaking! We have been keeping busy with meaningful and memorable programs planned by our lovely S'gan, Sam Raphael, and outstanding Yehudiah, Hadleigh Swarts! Some of our programs so far that have included the 6 folds of programming have been an extremely successful Cowboys & Hipsters themed RUSH, separate BBG and Aleph sleepovers, a Purim Party, a coffee themed Passover seder, a cultured dinner fundraiser and movie night (Anchorman!), a Holocaust Remembrance Shabbat, and MORE! Before the term ends, we are still extremely energized and looking forward to our last chapter dinner of the term, our Mother's Day Havdallah dinner, Senior Appreciation brunch, Chapter Lives, and end of the year party!
Some other things we've been up to: New this term, we have set up having a consistent chapter monthly dinner which have been great to get to know each and every one of our members on a personal level, and eat some delicious food (all from local restaurants) from pizza to tacos! We also loved fulfilling our full ten hours of community service, from advocating about Israel/Stand Up and promoting BBYO at
the Israel Festival at our local synagogue to making fleece blankets for the Ronald McDonald House here in Colorado Springs and even participating in Mitzvah Day 2013! We have also implemented small changes in the way our chapter runs such as having weekly board meetings and providing our members and prospects with a Suggestions Box at every meeting and event! Not only have we also been able to improve our chapter size and completely get on track to reach our goal of 5 new AITs and MITs, we have also strengthened our bond as a chapter AND our AZA presence! Yay Alephs!
Fun fact: This May, at Kallah 2013: The Power of Us, we will be representing our chapter with the highest convention attendance we've EVER had! This wouldn't be possible without each and every one of our members, so on behalf of me and the entire board, thank you so much for continuing to help our chapter reach new heights and leave OUR mark. :)
"Someday, the light will shine like a sun through my skin and they will say 'what have you done with your life?' and though there will be many moments I think I will remember, in the end I will be proud to say I was one of us."
Submitted with undying love for,
the Shut Up Cup, Board Google+ Hangouts, Ellie the Elephant, Staying Classy (San Diego), Rocky Mountain Chai BBYO #5179, Rocky Mountain Region #25, the International Order of BBYO, and each and every one of YOU, our incredibly dedicated chapter members and fellow Alephs and BBGs of RMR,
I remain your DAMN proud N'siah, Natasha Annalie Clarke
